Ella Daisy Stivender Stewart March 1, 1935 – December 26, 2018 Mrs. Ella Daisy Stivender Stewart, 83 years old, was born to the union of George and Bernice Stivender on March 1, 1935 in Bull Swamp, SC. She spent the majority of her life as a resident of Winston-Salem, North Carolina. A graduate of Carver High School, Mrs. Ella went on to pursue a career in cosmetology.

In her early 50’s, she attended Barbizon Beauty School where she received her cosmetology license in 1987. Afterwards, she went on to open her own salon, aptly named, “Before and After Hair Care”. The sun set on the life of the lovely Mrs. Ella at her home surrounded by loved ones on December 26, 2018.

She was preceded in death by both her father and mother. She leaves to cherish her memory: longtime husband, Leon Stewart of Winston-Salem, NC, two boys and six girls: Jerry Lee Stivender of Winston-Salem, NC and Guy Stivender of Asheville, NC, Alana Hamilton, Ava Drake, Bernistine Stivender all of Winston-Salem, NC, Velesha Henderson of Charlotte, NC; Wanda Marshall and Phyllis Stewart of Winston-Salem, NC and; 11 adored grandchildren,, 22 loving great-grandchildren, and 9 bright great-greatgrandchildren, as well as a host of friends and extended relatives. She counts Florence Linton, Nell Dean and Linda Hanna as devoted friends that she could count on for anything.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00pm Saturday January 5, 2019 at New Light Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1pm-2pm Saturday at the church.
