Obituary for Elmer C. Bond RICHMOND, Ind. – Elmer C. Bond, age 86, of Richmond, Indiana, died Sunday, July 29, 2018, at his home. Born October 3, 1931, in Harrison County, Kentucky, to William Frank and MaryBell Moore Bond, Elmer lived in this community most of his life.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Elmer retired from NATCO after 37 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his daughter, Karen (fiancé, Todd Shepherd) Bond of Richmond; sons, Melvin (Linda) Bond and Edward Lewis Bond, both of Richmond; grandchildren, Cassandra Oliveri of Florida, Melessa (Pete) Lewis of Fort Branch, Indiana, and Nathan (Heather) Beach, Chance Arthur, and Chad, Kyle, and Trent Bond, all of Richmond; great-grandchildren, Shelby, Gavin, and Lucas Bond, Logan and Brooklyn Lewis, Grace Smith, Samuel Beach, Trent Jr., Harmony, and Elizabeth Bond, and Noah Shell; sister, Sally Mason of Kentucky; brothers, Lee (Wanda) Bond and Lloyd Bond, both of Michigan; sister-in-law, Pat Bond of Michigan; nieces; nephews; cousins; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Luella Bond, who died November 17, 2014; parents; sisters, Ada Robinson and Alene McGuire; and brothers, Ira, Leonard, Ross, Dee, and Billy Bond and infant brother, Floyd Bond. Visitation for Elmer C. Bond will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 1, 2018, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond.

Funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 1, 2018, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Alvey and Pastor John H. Hollis officiating. Burial will be in Goshen Cemetery with military honors provided by the Wayne County Honor Guard.
