On January 18, 2019, Eloisa “Loy” Quinton’s battle with cancer ended and was called to heaven. Loy was born on July 16, 1940 in Wilmington, CA. Eloisa was raised in the City of Wilmington, then later resided in San Pedro.

Eloisa worked and retired from Cabrillo Avenue Children’s Center in San Pedro. She also worked for the News Pilot for many years as an area advisor. Helping kids and cooking was her niche in life.

It made her happy to see the kids that she and helped, raising families of their own and doing well. She also enjoyed taking her dog Shadow out for walks to the park and around the neighborhood. Eloisa had a lively personality and a laugh that was contagious.

She touched many lives with the love in her heart. She often put others first before herself. Our mom was a great woman, a true matriarch and was the anchor of our family.

We will always love her with all our hearts. Life will never be the same without our mom with us. She will be truly missed and will be forever in our memories.

She is survived by her husband Allen Quinton, Sr.; her three children, Allen Jr., Xavier and Bernadette Quinton; her five grandchildren Natalee, Karly, Robert, Evan Quinton and Alex Escobedo; and one great grandchild, Mia Edwards. She is also survived by her brother Joe Hernandez, and sisters Margie (Joe) Garcia and Vicky (Dario) Velasquez. Eloisa was predeceased by her father Carlos Hernandez, mother Madeline Morales, brother Jesse “Sonny” Hernandez, sisters Terry Villalobos and Gloria Morales-Valdivia.

Rosary and Mass will be held on Friday, February 1, 2019, 9:30 am at Holy Trinity church with burial following immediately at Green Hills Memorial Park.
