Chafatelli (Wurst) was reunited with her husband Gerard in heaven on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at the age of 101. Elsie was born and raised in Newark, NJ to Stephen and Alice Wurst. She was a member of many clubs and organizations, including the Democratic Club and the Exxon Annuity Club.

She made many calls in her younger days for the American Heart Association. Elsie spent her married years in Union and Linden, NJ. She was predeceased by her husband of almost 50 years Gerard T., her brother Stephen Wurst, and her sister, Rosemary Mazzucca.

She is survived by her beloved daughters, Denise Chafatelli, Debbie Butchko and her husband Keith, her cherished Grandchildren Jason and Gina, Great Grandchildren Logan and Hailey, and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may gather for the wake on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at Werson Funeral Home, 635 North Wood Avenue, Linden, NJ from 10 AM until 12 PM, at which time a funeral service will take place. Mrs. Chafatelli will be laid to rest with her beloved husband Gerard at St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia, NJ.

In lieu of flowers donations to the Alzheimers Association, 400 Morris Avenue, Suite 251, Denville, NJ 07834, or to the Center for Hope Hospice, 1900 Raritan Rd. Scotch Plains, NJ 07076 in her memory would be appreciated.
