Obituary for Esther M. Matsumura Esther M. Matsumura died peacefully at her home in Marysville, California, on Friday, September 21, 2018. She had recently celebrated her 94th birthday. Esther was born in Gridley, California, and lived in the area for most of her life.

She and her husband Robert (Bob), who died in 2004, were peach and prune farmers. Esther was a member of the Marysville Buddhist Church. She is survived by her children, Susan Matsumura of San Francisco, Barbara Matsumura of Sunnyvale, Robert Matsumura of Yuba City and sisters, Violet Tanaka of San Francisco and Kate Shirasago of Sacramento.
