Floyd Ray “Junior” Purkerson, JR. , 63, of Bowling Green passed away, Friday, January 25, 2019 at The Centennial Medical Center of Nashville. He was born January 17, 1956 in Bowling Green, KY to the late Floyd Ray and Mary Grace (Whitlow) Purkerson, SR.

Junior was a Christian and loved going to church. He was an automobile mechanic and loved working on cars more than anything. Aside from his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, David Purkerson.

Survivors include three children, Tracey, Lisa, and Dustin. He provided loving care to a “special” daughter, Samantha. Junior is also survived by two sisters, Sylvia (Jim) Doyel and Nancy (Larry) Anderson and one brother, Harold (Nadine) Purkerson, and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, January 28, 2019 at J.C. Kirby and Son Broadway Chapel, with Rev. Marvin Carson officiating. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Bowling Green.

Friends may visit with the family from 4-8 PM, Sunday and 10 AM until time of service Monday at the funeral home.
