Obituary for Francis A. Dzialo Francis A. “Skees” Dzialo, 81, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, November 3, 2018, at Baystate Medical Center. Born October 10, 1937, son of the late Frank and Julia (Zdon) Dzialo, he was raised in Chicopee, lived in Newton, and has resided in West Springfield for the past ten years. Skees was a retired graphic artist for Rust Craft Greeting Cards.

He was the life of the party, even when there wasn’t a party, and he loved making people smile and laugh with his witty comments and remarks. He took great pleasure working in his yard and enjoyed the flowers, birds and squirrels. He was a talented artist and created many beautiful handcarved duck decoys.

A US Navy veteran, Skees was proud of the time he spent serving his country. Although he was a lifelong Yankees fan, Skees enjoyed cheering on Boston sports teams. He was a diehard card player and always up for a good competitive game.

Skees deeply loved his family and enjoyed being with them at picnics, parties and holiday gatherings. He will be profoundly missed by family and friends. Skees was predeceased in 1998 by his beloved wife, Josephine (Gentile) Dzialo, and also predeceased by his seven siblings, Jennie Klimek, Jane Johnson, Josephine Piskovitz, Alfred Dzialo, Chester Dzialo, Alfreda Donahue, and Annette Denoncourt.

Skees is survived by a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, as well as many loving nieces and nephews, especially his constant companions and caregivers; Paul, Pam, Jeff and Tyler Denoncourt. Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning from Kozikowski Funeral Home, 565 Front St., Chicopee, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM in St. Stanislaus Basilica. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Chicopee.
