Obituary for Frank V. Timpanaro Frank V. “Tippy” Timpanaro 91, of Bonita Springs, FL died Sunday, November 25, 2018 at his residence. Frank was born March 16, 1927 in Queens, NY, a son of the late Alfred and Grace (neé Cantarella) Timpanaro. A lifelong resident of Queens, he moved to Bonita Springs in 1980.
He attended John Adams High School and at the age of 18 enlisted in the U.S. Army. He proudly served his country during WWII. Following his time in the service he returned to work as a plumber in Queens until 1963.
At that time he was hired by the City of New York as a Building Inspector. He retired in 1980. In 1981, Frank was hired by Collier County as a Building Inspector and finally retired in 1993.
He was a Parishioner and a daily communicant at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Bonita Springs. He is survived by his sister, Santina Tremmel of Long Island, NY and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Phyllis J. Timpanaro in 2006; two sisters, Josephine Timpanaro and Sally Dietl, and two brothers, Joseph Timpanaro and John Timpanaro.
John died during the invasion at Iwo Jima while he served with the 4th Division of the U.S. Marine Corp. His family will receive friends on Friday, November 30, 2018 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Shikany’s Bonita Funeral Home 28300 So. Tamiami Tr.
, Bonita Springs, FL. Catholic scripture services will be held at 6:30 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 12:30 PM at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church.
