Franklin N. Gaugler, 77, of Chambersburg, passed away Wednesday, November 14, 2018. Born July 14, 1941 in Selinsgrove, PA, he was the son of the late Chester F. Gaugler and Betty Marguerite Anderson Luck. Frank was the Assistant Business Manager, Chambersburg Area School District from 1969 until 1984 and retired in 2004 after 20 years as a teacher at the Franklin County Career and Technology Center.

He was a 1959 graduate of Newport High School and completed a Bachelor and Masters of Education at Shippensburg University. Frank was a PIAA Wrestling Official for many years and active in the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees. He enjoyed Civil War and World War history and loved to sing, read, fish and travel.

He was a member of the Salem United Brethren Church where he taught Sunday School for the past 49 years. In addition to his mother, Frank is survived by his wife, Faye Helman Gaugler, daughter Cherie (Regis) Stiffler of Middletown, PA, sons Steven L. (Rochelle) and Matthew R. Gaugler of Chambersburg, grandchildren, Rachael Stiffler, Abigail and Gabriel Gaugler: give siblings, Dean Gaugler, Farifield, CT, Karin Gaugler, Barrington, IL, Jo Vargo, Lititz, Margaret Campbell, Burnham, and Elizabeth Leech, Carlise. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on December 16, 2018 at 2 pm at the Salem United Brethren Church, Chambersburg with Pastor Jason Bakker and Pastor Ronald Cook officiating.

Burial will be a private family service at Norland Cemetery. Family requests the omission of flowers and asks that memorial donations be made to Salem Church Capital Campaign, 4349 Letterkenny Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202 or MPN Research Foundation, 180 N. Michigan Ave. , Suite 1870, Chicago, IL 60601.
