Frederick “Fred” Lucas Jr., age 86 of Apollo, formerly of Murrysville passed away on Wednesday, June 27, 2018. He was born September 8, 1931 in Sagamore, PA, son of the late Frederick Lucas Sr. and Margaret Kerr Lucas. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a retired welder for Westinghouse Electric.

Fred was a member of Christ’s Lutheran Church, Murrysville and the Apollo Lodge #437 F. & A. M. He enjoyed camping, listening to polka music, and spending time with his family. Fred is survived by his wife, Grace Lott Lucas of Apollo; four children, James (Patricia) Lucas of Murrysville, Sandra Lucas of Apollo, Karen (James) Brinker of Delmont and Robert (Nancy) Lucas of Murrysville; Seven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Fred is also survived by two brothers, Robert (Betty) Lucas and Matthew (Melanie) Lucas, a sister, Betty Ann (James) LoGreco, and a sister-in-law, Sally (Gene) Dawes.

Visitation Sunday, July 1, 2018 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Hart Funeral Home Inc., Murrysville. A masonic service will be held on Sunday at 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Wayne Gillespie officiating. Interment will follow in Plum Creek Cemetery with military honors accorded by the United States Army.
