Joanne F. (Fritz) Krauss, 85, of Murrysville passed away peacefully at home on Friday, June 8, 2018. She was born June 28, 1932 in St Marys, Pa. , daughter of the late Fabian and Margaret Mertel Fritz.

Prior to retirement, Joanne was an operating room nurse for many years at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, Duke University Hospital in Durham, and Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore. She was a member of the Clearfield Nurses Club. Joanne loved growing flowers, making music on the keyboard, and painting with watercolors.

She is survived by her husband, James “Jim” E. Krauss of Murrysville; her children, Michele Krauss of Arlington, VA, Mark (Carrie) Krauss of Las Vegas, NV, Amy (Mark) Portofe of Centerville, VA; two grandchildren, Luke and Virginia Portofe; a sister, Suzanne (John) Caimi of Kersey and a brother, Daniel (Debbie) Fritz of St Marys. Her memory will live through her family and the many lives she touched. Visitation Tuesday, June 12, 2018 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Hart Funeral Home Inc., Murrysville where a remembrance service will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. www.
