Robert “Bob” A. Bettis, 87, of Murrysville passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 24, 2018. He was born May 13, 1931 in Pittsburgh, son of the late Phyllis Suter Bettis. In addition to his mother, Bob was preceded in death by two daughters, Lynn A. Thompson in 2014 and Robin A. McDonald in 2017.

Prior to retirement, Bob was a union brick layer with Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Local 9, Pittsburgh. He was a member of Forbes Trail Lodge 783 F&AM and loved to fish and golf. He was also an avid Steelers, Penguins and Pirates fan.

Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Dolores “Dee” (D’Ippolito) Bettis of Murrysville; a son, Samuel (Beverly) Bettis of Jeannette; a daughter, Phyllis Bettis (Fiance, Robert Nemeth) of Mississippi; three grandchildren, Justin (Veronica) Padgett, Shane (Ashley) Bettis, and Christie (Stephen) Beres; five great-grandchildren, Caden, Leiam, Ella, Sydney and Dakota; a half- brother, A.E. “Tim” (Mae) Suter; a brother-in-law, Richard (Faye) D’Ippolito; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation Tuesday, June 5, 2018 from 3p.m. – 7p.m. at the Hart Funeral Home Inc., Murrysville where a Masonic service will be held for Bob at 6:30 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shirners Hospital for Children at 3551 North Broad Street, Philadelphia, Pa 19140 or SLAM (Sportsmans and Landwners Association of Murrysville) at P.O. Box 514 Murrysville, Pa 15668 in Bob’s name. www.
