Gary Dale Ostrom, 64, of North Vernon, passed away at 10:15 a.m. on Sunday, January 20, 2019, at his residence. Born June 7, 1954 in Artesia, California, Gary was the son of Robert Griffith and Betty Jean (Phillips) Ostrom. He married Wanda Cooke on December 10, 1980, in Gallatin, Tennessee; she survives.

Gary worked at Erler’s Industries for five years and he had previously worked for Westport Glass (Alcon) for three years as a machine operator. He was a member of A.B.A.T.E. and played Santa Claus for them for several years. He enjoyed motorcycle riding and hunting.

He especially enjoyed spending time with his family. Surviving with his wife, Wanda, is godson, Sam Sampson of Montana; brother, Donald Ostrom of Lebanon, Oregon; and sister, Roberta Ostrom of Lebanon, Oregon. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ronald Ostrom; and sister, Sybil Archer.

In keeping with the family’s wishes cremation is planned. Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon were entrusted with the care of these arrangements.
