Betty Lois Ellercamp, 84, of Seymour and formerly of North Vernon, passed away at 1:26 a.m. on Wednesday, January 23, 2019, at Schneck Medical Center. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at First United Methodist Church. Rev.

Marvin Sweet, Rev. Joe Wyatt and Mr. Bob Ochs will officiate. Burial will be in Vernon Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 25th at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service and from noon until the time of service at the church on Saturday, January 26th. Born October 24, 1934, in Jennings County, Betty was the daughter of Lewis and Jennie Woolman Brougher. She married Charles A. Ellercamp on July 21, 1956.

He preceded her in death on April 2, 2018. She graduated from North Vernon High School in 1952. She had been employed as a secretary at Muscatatuck State Developmental Center for 7 1/2 years and Jennings County High School for 21 years.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church of North Vernon, Friends of the Jennings County Library, Jennings County Players and Senior Res. Betty is survived by her daughter, Lois (Ed) Kellar of Hayden and a sister, Janetta Bush of Columbus,IN. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Jennie Brougher; her husband, Charles Ellercamp; sister, Clara Mae Haines; and brother, Lloyd Brougher.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to First United Methodist Church or Schneck Hospice.
