Ronald D. Redmond, 74, of North Vernon, passed away at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday, January 3, 2019, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 8, 2019, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service. Rev.

Michael Bean will officiate. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. and continue until the time of the service. Burial will be in Vernon Cemetery.

Born November 3, 1944, in Hendricks, CO, Ronald was the son of Robert and Zella Anderson Redmond. He married Linda Mathews on August 10, 1968. She survives.

He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam and worked 40+ years at Dave O’Mara Contractor, Inc He enjoyed farming, animals, his family and John Wayne movies. Ronald is survived by his wife, Linda Redmond of North Vernon; daughter, Betsy (Travis) Hearne of North Vernon; son, John (Karen) Redmond of Seymour; grandchildren, Taleena, Zella, and Walker Hearne and Dakota Redmond; two sisters, Helen Scott of northern IN and Mary Marchesano of Fort Wayne; and five brothers, Donald Redmond of Fort Wayne, Arnold, Orville, Auda and Marvin “Skipper” Redmond all of North Vernon.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Lawrence Robert Redmond and a sister, Angela Pennington. Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Our Hospice of South Central IN or the American Cancer Society.
