Tuesday, March 12, 2019 in First Baptist Church, Snyder, Oklahoma. Burial with military honors will follow in Fairlawn Cemetery, Snyder under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home of Snyder. The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Former Snyder resident Gary Max Anderson, Sr. 73, Lawton, passed away Thursday, March 7, 2019 at his home in Lawton. He was born June 19, 1945 in Lawton to Bige and Mona Faye (Wilcox) Anderson. Gary served five years in the United States Army, having served during Vietnam.

He was passionate about his work as an Electrical and Nuclear Start-Up Engineer. His work took him all over the United States and the world. He married Cindy M. Nelson on July 22, 2011 in Vernon, Texas.

First and foremost Gary loved his lord and his relationship with his church. He loved his family and adored his parents. He loved his children and grandchildren, his many friends and enjoyed family reunions.

Gary loved being in charge. He played Santa Claus for many years, and was the Mayor of Snyder from 2009 until 2011. Gary is survived by his wife, Cindy of the home, his son Gary Max Anderson, Jr., of Tucson, Arizona, 4 daughters, Shana Anderson of Chandler, Arizona, Kerry Cianciarulo and husband Michael of Pacifica, California, Karyn Anderson of Lawton, Mandy Hopkins and husband James of Owasso, Oklahoma, special family member Jessica Anderson and her husband Heath of Snyder, Oklahoma, his grandchildren, Tylor Anderson, Ryley Huntley, Anthony Cianciarulo, Roman Cianciarulo, Cecilia Cianciarulo, Samuel Raughley, Emily Anderson Hatchet, Jalon Hopkins, Jazzie Hopkins, Hunter Anderson, Turtle Anderson and his special pet family, Si, Bitsy and Peanut.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Janice Manning and a brother Doug Anderson.
