Gaylen “Pete”‘s Obituary Gaylen Dennis Peterson, 74, Minot, ND, passed away Monday, February 4, 2019, at his residence. Gaylen was born March 10, 1944, the son of Nels and Evelyn (Lade) Peterson, in Minot. ND was raised and educated in Carpio and attending Carpio School.

He worked as a mechanic at several places, doing service advising and sold large shop equipment until suffering a injury. In later years, he did parts running for Magic City Implement. He was married to Judy Vaagen and with this union, they had seven children, Brenda, Ginger, Denise, Penny, Pam, Scott and Becky.

Gaylen married Darline Blada in 1979 and with this union, they had a son, Colin. They made their home Dickinson and Minot. Gaylen was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose and the Eagles Aerie.

Gaylen enjoyed rebuilding cars, woodworking, tinkering with things and being a prankster. Surviving family includes: his wife of 39 years, Darline Peterson, Minot, ND 8 children, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, Sister, Linda Johnson, Minot. Mother-in-law, Jorene Blada, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jeri Gaul, Jerry Blada, Don Blada, JoAnn Thull, Dean Blada and John Blada.

Gaylen was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Robert, sister, Lois Thuner and father-in-law, Bud Blada. Celebration of Life Service: Friday, February 8, 2019, from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Comfort Suites, Minot.
