Obituary for George “Russell” Luster George Russell Luster, 53 years young, went to his eternal home on Saturday, February 9, 2019 in Amarillo. He made his grand appearance into this world on December 22, 1965 to JB Luster and Betty Ann McLemore in Pampa. Russell was raised in Pampa and graduated from Pampa High School.

He was larger than life and his presence preceded him. Russell had a big personality, big heart and loved fiercely! True to his gypsy spirit, he never remained in one spot for long; however, he left his mark everywhere he went and touched many lives along his journey.

Some of Russell’s favorite joys were dancing, camping out with his friends, listening to music (especially Dolly Parton) and walking. In the words of Russell, “One must have a hint of color, flawless! ” Our world will be a little duller without his beaming light, sparkle and glitter.

He will be sorely missed by many friends and those who cherished him. He is preceded in death by his parents, beloved Grandmama, Ida Marie Upshaw and a cousin, Mark Bennett. Those left behind to share his memories are his lifetime partner, Chuck Mercer of Amarillo; a sister, Teresa Price of Arkansas; niece, Stefanie Price of Arkansas; best friend, Misti Plunk and wife Jessica of Pampa; lifelong friend, Richard Ramirez of Granbury, Texas and numerous aunts, cousins, family and friends from far and near.

Celebration of Life Memorial Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at the Knights of Columbus Building, 318 North Cuyler Street, Pampa with Brother Melvin Hanks officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Brendan Ponce, Elijah Corrales, Jordon Shook, Jaydon Shook, Jantzon Stanhope and Jentry Stanhope. For those of you that wish to honor Russell through donations, the family suggests they be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 185, Pittsburgh, PA.
