Obituary for Gerald G Wadle Mass of Christian Burial for Gerald G. Wadle, 90, of Indianola will be Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Augustine Catholic Church in Milo, Iowa. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church. Interment will be at the Rosemount Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Milo American Legion. Gerald was born December 1, 1927 near Rosemount, Iowa to Otto and Mary (Kessler) Wadle. He attended Rosemount School and enlisted in the United States Navy in 1945.

He served in WWII and the Korean Conflict, attached to the Seabee battalion, until 1952. After returning from the service, he attended Finlay Engineering College in Kansas City, Missouri. He married Pauline Greufe on May 18, 1957 in Milo.

They had five children: Karen, Lynn, Bill, Janet, and Rita. They lived in Fairfield, Iowa where Gerald worked for Rockwell International for 25 years. In 1996, they moved to Indianola, Iowa.

Gerald enjoyed working in the yard, gardening and trimming the trees and shrubs. Many will remember his old blue Dodge pickup that he drove for over thirty years. He loved to spend time with his children, grandchildren, and extended family.

Gerald passed away at the Village in Indianola at the age of 90. He is survived by his wife, Pauline; children: Lynn (Craig) Allen, Bill (Kella) Wadle, Janet (Dave) Hackney, and Rita Bartlett; son-in-law, Dennis Shultheiss; seven grandchildren: Ainsley, Seth, Paige, Jordyn, Payton, Morgan, and Lauren; along with many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Karen Shultheiss; and siblings: Floyd Wadle, Milda Wadle, Ruth Wadle, Mary Buckalew, and John Wadle.
