Gerald “Jerry” W. Koopman, age 77, passed away Thursday, May 31, 2018, at Agrace Center for Hospice & Palliative Care. He was born in Beloit on May 9, 1941, the son of Weston and Mabel (Heggelund) Koopman. Jerry met the love of his life, Audrey “Jean” Holloway at the Pop House in Beloit.

They became high school sweethearts and were married on September 15, 1961. Jerry worked as a Master Plumber for many years and owned and operated his own plumbing business, Koopman Plumbing. He then retired and began working as a Starter at Riverside Golf Course.

Jerry’s hobbies included traveling, golfing, fishing, and listening to music. Many family vacations were spent downhill skiing at Indianhead, Michigan, and at their cabin in Hayward, WI. In later years, golf became the sport he and Jean enjoyed together.

Jerry’s greatest joy in life was spending time with his family. Jerry is survived by his 3 children: Debbie (Tom) Bowman, Kristin (David) Woodbeck, and Travis (Kristin) Koopman; 3 grandchildren: Mandy (Jared) Thompson, Emma Halverson, and Trent Koopman; 2 great grandchildren, Nolan and Grayson; and many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

The family would like to thank the staff at Agrace Center for the wonderful care provided for their father. With a special thank you to Dr. Dena Green and Nurse Linda Hathorn. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Agrace Center for Hospice & Palliative Care in Janesville, WI.
