Obituary for Gerardo Rivas Gonzalez Gerardo Rivas Gonzalez, a former longtime resident of Beacon and currently of Wappingers Falls, passed away on September 4, 2018 at Westchester Medical Center, Valhalla. He was 51 years old. Gerardo was born in Yabucoa, Puerto Rico on January 18, 1967 the son of Luciana Gonzalez and the late Francisco Rivas.

He was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church. He worked for several local businesses as a driver. In addition to his mother, Gerardo is survived by his children, Gerardo Rivas Jr. and wife and Christopher Rivas; his siblings, Carmen Beltran and husband, Freddy, Maria Rivas and partner, Israel Beltran, Gladys Valentin and husband, Gilberto, Carmen L. Rivas and husband, Domingo Morales, Angel Arrianga and Jose Rivas and wife, Carmen; is grandchildren, Zachariah Rivas and Zophia Rivas; numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.

Family and friends will be received on Sunday, September 9 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Riverview Funeral Home by Halvey, 2 Beekman Street, Beacon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, September 10 at 10 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, 35 Willow Street, Beacon. Burial will follow at St. Joachim Cemetery, Beacon.
