Obituary for John Arroyo John Arroyo, a longtime resident of New York City and currently of Wappingers Falls, entered into rest on September 22, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family. He was 86 years old. John was born in New York City on August 7, 1932 the son of the late Agipito Arroyo and Auroa Fernandez.

John married the former Gloria Merced and together they enjoyed 63 years of marriage. Mrs. Arroyo survives at home. John proudly served our country in the United States Air Force for 22 years from 1952 to 1974.

John worked for over 30 years for the United States Postal Service as a Postal Carrier, working at the Times Square Station. In addition to his wife, John is survived by his daughter, Lisa Monroe and her husband, Tim; his grandchildren, Aubry and Luke, Jessica and Bradley, Dale, Christopher and Kina, Elizabeth and Marilyn; his great grandchildren, Kassi-Ellen Rose, Adalyn Rose, Levi Parker, Mikayla and Cristian; his brothers, Joseph Arroyo and his wife, Benita and Davin Arroyo and his wife, Gloria; several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will gather on Saturday, September 29 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Riverview Funeral Home by Halvey, 2 Beekman Street, Beacon.

A funeral service and military honors will be held at the funeral home at 6 p.m. Memorial donations in memory of John may be made to either Hudson Valley Hospice, 374 Violet Avenue, Poughkeepsie, New York 12601 or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www. stjude.org/give. html.
