Obituary for John D. Battle John D. Battle, a longtime resident of Beacon, entered into eternal rest on October 15, 2018 at Mid Hudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie. He was 65 years old. John was born on May 3, 1953 in New York City, the son of Jane Harmon Battle and John P. Battle, deceased.

He graduated from St. John’s School in Beacon and Beacon High School. He graduated from Stonybrook University with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology. He was a substitute teacher at Beacon High School in chemistry for a brief time and thereafter worked in White Plains at a water testing company.

John was a sensitive, loving and caring man. He loved music, especially his guitar. He also was an avid reader.

John is survived by his mother, Jane Battle; his brother, Kevin Battle and 2 brothers and 3 sisters. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his grandparents, Josephine and John Harmon and his uncle, Jack Harmon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 19 at 10 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, 35 Willow Street, Beacon.
