Obituary for Dr. Barnet Winter, DDS Dr. Barnet Winter, DDS, a longtime resident of Beacon, entered into rest on September 4, 2018 at Wingate at Dutchess. He was 101 years old. Dr. Barnet was born in New York City on September 14, 1916 the son of the late Louis and Sadie Winter.

Dr. Barnet proudly served our country during World War II in the U.S. Army as a dentist. On July 20, 1952 he married the former Louise Tilton. Mrs. Winter predeceased Dr. Barnet in 2011.

He was a member of the Southern Dutchess Country Club for many years. He was an avid golfer and tennis player. He enjoyed bowling.

He was a violin player and loved to sing. Dr. Barnet is survived by his son, Barry Winter and companion, Carol Walker; his daughter, Jody Hale and husband, Jack E. Hale; his grandson, Jack R. Hale; his nephew Michael Winter. In addition to his parents and wife, Dr. Barnet was predeceased by his brothers, Samuel Winter and Sydney Winter.

Family and friends will gather on Thursday, September 13 from 10 to 10:30 a.m. at Riverview Funeral Home by Halvey, 2 Beekman Street, Beacon. Funeral services of the Baha’i faith will be held at 10:30 at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will follow in the family plot at Beth El Cemetery, 735 Forest Avenue, Paramus, New Jersey.

Following services at the cemetery the family would like to invite everyone to join with them at Southern Dutchess Country Club at 4 p.m. to continue celebrating Dr. Barnet’s life.
