Carrera Pistner, 91, of 5587 Ridgway-Johnsonburg Road, Johnsonburg, died Saturday night, Nov. 17, 2018, at Penn Highlands Elk in St. Marys following a brief illness. Born on March 3, 1927 in Johnsonburg, she was the daughter of Paul and Ann Nelson-Stewart.

On Sept. 18, 1945, she married Samuel J. Carrera in Holy Rosary Church in Johnsonburg; he preceded her in death in April of 1998. She later married Richard J. Pistner on April 19, 2007 in Holy Rosary Church in Johnsonburg; he preceded her in death on Sept.

4, 2009. Gloria resided in Johnsonburg all her life, and attended Johnsonburg High School. She was a member of the Holy Rosary Church as well as the Johnsonburg Senior Center, where she volunteered for many years.

She also was a member of the Red Hat Society, and volunteered at the Peppermint Stick at the St. Marys Hospital for 15 years. She has also been a member of the St. Anne Society in St. Marys for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family and loved to volunteer her time.

She was employed by Sylvania in St. Marys and retired in 1986 after 35 years of service. Gloria is survived by one daughter, Darla, Mrs. Larrie Jacobs of Johnsonburg; and one son, Joseph Carrera and his wife, Debby, of Leesburg, Florida; four grandchildren: David Jacobs and his wife, Tamy; Gwen, Mrs. Jeff Wolfe; Jason Zubiet; and Aimee, Mrs. Evan Fowler; six great-grandchildren: Zachary Wolfe and his wife, Brittney; Tiffany Wolfe; Samantha and Dominic Jacobs; and Easton and Sydnee Fowler; step-children: Lawrence Pistner and his wife, Barbara, of Johnsonburg; Sharon, Mrs. JD Davison of Ridgway; Brandy, Mrs. Mark Copelli of Ridgway; and Christine Woodford of Ridgway; 14 step-grandchildren and 16 step-great-grandchildren. Alongside her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter: Cheryl Zubieta; two husbands, Samuel J. Carrera and Richard J. Pistner; two sisters, Jean Warner and Paula Stewart; and a step-daughter, Jean Welsh.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Gloria B. Carrera Pistner will be conducted at Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg, on Wednesday, Nov. 21, at 10 a.m. with Fr. David Wilson, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be held privately at Holy Rosary Cemetery. Friends will be received at the Anthony F. Ferragine Funeral Home 401 Chestnut Street Johnsonburg, on Tuesday evening, Nov. 20.
