Youngstown – Gloria L. Coppersmith, 94, died Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at Hospice of the Valley’s Hospice House. Gloria was born February 24, 1925 in Warren, a daughter of Charles and Bertha (Froman) Milliman. She was a 1943 graduate of Liberty High School.

After graduation, she worked for Warren City Manufacturing as a welder where they made landing barges for the Navy. Gloria then worked for General Electric Factory in Youngstown where they made light bulbs. Moving to Columbiana, she worked for Franklin Furniture in their office for over 20 years, retiring when she moved back to Youngstown.

She was a member of Good Hope Lutheran Church in Boardman, the Saxon Club Branch 22, the Mill Creek Ladies Golf League-TLTL, and the Niles Senior Center. In her free time, she enjoyed painting, bowling, and bocce. Gloria is survived by her husband, Raymond E. Coppersmith, whom she married February 8, 1969; two step-sons, Robert (Lisa) Coppersmith of Tampa, FL and Edgar (Essie).

Coppersmith of Miami, FL; sister-in-law, Marjorie Fries of Boardman; niece, Kerri Kaelber of Liberty; two nephews, Robert Kay of Liberty and Craig Milliman of Liberty; five step-grandchildren; and 4 step-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Gloria was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Victor Milliman and her sister, Joann Kay. A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Good Hope Lutheran Church in Boardman, where family and friends will be received on Saturday from 10-10:45 a.m., prior to the service.

Interment will be at Green Haven Memorial Gardens in Canfield. Memorial tributes may take the form of contributions in Mrs. Coppersmith’s name to Good Hope Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 98 Homestead Dr., Boardman, Ohio 44512. Arrangements are being handled by the Davis-Becker Funeral Home.
