Gordon Keith Matheson, 84, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital. Keith was born in Chicago, Illinois on April 22, 1934, the second oldest of six children, to the late William John and Dorothy Fletcher (Taylor) Matheson. He served an LDS Church Mission to Germany from 1955-1957 and was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1958 where he served in Germany until 1960.

He spent his career as an anatomy professor teaching at both Loyola University Chicago and Indiana University Medical School Evansville. Keith was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Keith is survived by his wife of 59 years, Linda Nan (Olsen) Matheson of Evansville, IN; children, Mark Matheson of Evansville, IN, Paul Matheson (Amy) of Louisville, KY, Jan Matheson of Bloomington, IN and Jean Matheson of Newburgh, IN; sisters, Gail Hobush (Helmut) of Orem, UT and Sharon Rubow (Steven) of Long Grove, IL; brother, David Matheson (Lori) of Elgin, IL; by his grandchildren, Andrew, Samuel and Jacob Matheson and Miles and Maia Fierst; and by his sister-in-law, Joan Matheson of Peachtree City, GA. Keith was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, William John Matheson Jr. and Robert Matheson; and by his sister-in-law, Carol Matheson Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 8020 Covert Ave. , Evansville, IN 47715 with Bishop Jacob Kennedy officiating.

Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, June 22, 2018 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave. , Evansville, IN 47711 and again from 9:00 AM until service time at the church on Saturday.
