Obituary for Gregory Allen Martin Gregory Allen Martin, 59, of Evansville, passed away Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Deaconess Hospital Midtown. Greg was born on March 1, 1959 in Evansville, Indiana to the late George P. Martin and Helen (Weinzapfel) Martin. He was a lifelong member of St. Philip Catholic Church, serving on the Finance Committee and was an active member of the St. Philip Men’s Club.

Greg will be sadly missed. He was employed at Faultless Caster for 25 years and was Finance Secretary for Association of Machinists Aero Space Workers Local # 153. Throughout Greg’s life he was active in his community, serving as a Deputy Sheriff and an EMT for Posey County.

His love of politics had him running for County Commissioner and serving two terms. He also served as a precinct committeeman and at the time of his death was a candidate for Marrs Township Trustee. Surviving Greg is one sister, Rebecca (Jim) Attebury of Mt.

Vernon, Indiana and three brothers, George P. (Gloria) Martin, III of Evansville, Melvin (Sue) Martin, Steve Martin, all of St. Philip and Eugene Martin of Louisville, KY. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at St. Philip Catholic Church.

Burial will follow in the St. Philip Church Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 3:00 until 7:00 P.M. Tuesday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street where there will be a memorial service conducted by the church at 3:00 P.M. Friends may also visit with the family from 9:30 A.M. until service time on Wednesday at St. Philip Catholic Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Philip Men’s Club .
