Obituary for Anita M. Rexing Anita M. (Weinzapfel) Rexing, 89, of Mt. Vernon, passed away Saturday, September 01, 2018 at Heritage Center. Anita was born March 6, 1929 in Mt.

Vernon, IN to the late Frank and Elizabeth (Schenk) Weinzapfel. She was a homemaker and a longtime member of St. Philip Catholic Church. Surviving Anita are her husband of 67 years, Jerome Rexing; two daughters, Beth (Eric) Schmitt of Mt.

Vernon, IN and Amy(Richard)Ludwig of Evansville; one son, Mark Rexing of Evansville; five grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Anita was preceded in death by five sisters, Estelle Waibel, Cornelia Niemeier, Helen Martin, Agnes Newton and Isabell Dugan and by six brothers, Sylvester, Edwin, Clarence “Dick”, Bert, Jim and Julius Weinzapfel. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, September 5th, 2018 at St. Philip Catholic Church, Rev.

Gordon Mann officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Philip Church cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 until 7:00 PM on Tuesday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street, where there will be a memorial service conducted by the church at 2:00 PM.

Friends may also visit with the family from 9:30 AM until service time on Wednesday at St. Philip Church. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society or St. Philip Catholic Church. Condolences may be made online at www.
