Guy “Pappy” William Fazenbaker, Sr., 72, of Oakland, MD, passed away on Saturday, November 24, 2018, at Dennett Road Manor Nursing Home, Oakland. His wife and stepdaughter were by his side. Born June 1, 1946, in Grantsville, MD, he was the son of the late Charles M. and Bessie Ellen (Legeer) Fazenbaker.

He was also preceded in death by his stepmother, Cora Fazenbaker; two brothers, Harry and Kenneth Fazenbaker; one sister, Ruth Bittinger; one stepdaughter, Sherri Duncan Miller. His employment, where he was well known as Pappy, included Mt. Storm Power Station, Serenos Tavern, where he was owner and operator as well as Fazenbaker and Son’s Trucking.

He delivered oil for Oakland Oil Company and was a truck driver for Garrett Mine Supply. Guy enjoyed helping his stepdaughter, Stephanie, show her horses at 4-H events. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, yard landscaping, and many building projects such as barns and home additions.

Guy was very giving of himself and willing to help anyone in need. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Sue Duncan-Fazenbaker; two sons, Guy William Fazenbaker, Jr. and wife, Melinda; Todd Eric Fazenbaker and wife, Jessica; one stepson, Adam Duncan; three stepdaughters, Annette Nine and husband, Chris; Crystal Curry and husband, Ray; Stephanie Gordon, all of Oakland; one brother, Robert Fazenbaker, Grantsville; one sister, Hellen Brooks, OH; eight grandchildren, Blake, Guy William III, Tyler, Madison, and Nolan Fazenbaker; Tyler, Gavin, and Jenna Curry; numerous nieces and nephews.

At Guy’s request, he was cremated and no service are planned at this time. Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 1100 Memorial Drive, Oakland, is in charge of his arrangements. Condolences may be left for his family at www.
