James Ernest McKenzie, 76, of Grantsville, MD, died Monday, November 12, 2018, at WMHS Regional Medical Center, Cumberland, MD. Born October 28, 1942, in Salisbury, PA, he was the son of the late Ernest and Grace (Jordan) McKenzie. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Pat Panero; and two brothers, Larry McKenzie and Richard McKenzie.

James retired from Clayburn Refractories as a maintenance mechanic in 2004 and was a U.S. Army veteran during Vietnam. He graduated from Meyersdale High School and was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ, Grantsville. He enjoyed hunting and driving his Mustang, which he and Sue had taken on several trips through the years.

The most important thing to him was family and spending time with them. He is survived by his wife, Sue Anna (Jenkins) McKenzie; two daughters, Tracy McKenzie and companion, Mike Gloeckner, Vermillion, OH; Tammy Crayton and husband, John, Grantsville; two brothers, Bob (Betty) McKenzie, Stoystown, PA; Fred (Bev) McKenzie, Monaca, PA; one sister, Donna (JR) Alger, Rileyville, VA; six grandchildren, Brandy (Bill) Rosa, Rebecca Schroyer and Jessica Schroyer, all of Vermillion; Adam Crayton, Alexandria Crayton and Ashton Crayton, all of Grantsville. Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the Trinity United Church of Christ on Thursday, November 15, 2018, at 11:00 a.m., with the Rev.

Dr. Alexa Smith officiating. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the services. Interment will be in the Trinity Cemetery.
