Grace Belle Wolff Crehan , October 08, 1932 — December 18, 2018

Grace Belle (Wolff) Crehan, 86, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 18, 2018, at Goodwill Mennonite Home, Grantsville, MD. She was born October 8, 1932, in Baltimore, MD. Grace formerly lived in Westminster, MD, and after having suffered a stroke in the spring, moved to Grantsville to be near her son, Glenn, and to be lovingly cared for by the staff of Goodwill.

She, along with the family members she leaves behind, will be always grateful for the kindness and patience they exhibited in caring for her in her final months. Grace traveled into Baltimore City every day, where she worked in accounting for Commercial Credit Corporation, which is now a part of Citigroup. When she retired from Commercial Credit, she and her husband, Buck (Gilbert), moved to Cape Coral, FL, where they spent many happy years in the Florida sunshine.

When Buck passed away, she came to Westminster to be closer to her son, Gary, who kept a watchful eye on her and helped whenever she needed it. But Grace had grown weary of the restrictions and indignities that come with aging, and after she had the stroke which left her largely incapacitated, she decided it was time to go. Though she is missed by all who love her, we are glad that her frustrations and weariness are now gone.

She was a wonderful, vibrant soul who loved a good party, and we will remember her as that spunky woman who always kept us on our toes. Grace was preceded in death by her husband, Buck and leaves behind her sons, Gary, of Westminster and Glenn and wife, Lynne, of Grantsville; granddaughters, Candace, of Odenton, MD, and Allyson, of Roosevelt, NY. She is also survived by great grandchildren, Tierney, Chase and Gionni Crehan, all of Odenton.

Grace was cremated according to her wishes, and no service will be held at this time. A memorial service may occur at a later date. Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, is in charge of cremation arrangements.
