Thomas Michael Counihan, 64 and Barbara Jean (Goodall) Counihan, 66, of Salisbury, PA, died suddenly Thursday, November 8, 2018, as a result of an automotive accident. Thomas was born December 23, 1953, in Meyersdale, PA, and was the son of Thomas F. and Jo-Ann (Bowser) Counihan, Salisbury. Barbara was born September 2, 1952, in Cortez, CO, and was the daughter of the late Darwin and Edna (Adams) Goodall.

They are survived by their son, Sean M. Counihan, Fairbanks, AK; their daughter, Dr. Katrina L. Counihan, Seward, AK and one grandchild due in March. Barbara is also survived by two brothers, Oliver Goodall, Cunningham, TN; Richard Goodall, Cortez and one sister, Judy Baros, Denver, CO. Thomas was an engineer for ERG Petroleum Co., in Bakersfield, CA and was a graduate from Penn State, where he was a member of the College of Sciences.

He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, West Salisbury, PA, Knights of Columbus and was President of the Society of Petroleum Engineers. Barbara was a homemaker and a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, West Salisbury. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in the St. Michael Catholic Church, on Friday, November 16, 2018, at 11:00 a.m., with Father Nathan Munsch officiating.

Interment will be in the St. Michael Catholic Cemetery. Newman Funeral Home, Inc., 9168 Mason-Dixon Hwy. , Salisbury, is in charge of arrangements.
