Harry Randall “Randy” Williams, 71, of Edwardsburg, Michigan, died Tuesday afternoon, January 22, 2019 at the Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital in Pawleys Island, SC. Randy was born on September 30, 1947, in Anderson, Indiana. After graduating from college, he had a lifelong career as an insurance adjuster for State Farm Insurance.

Randy retired to Garver Lake in Edwardsburg, Michigan, when he married Julie (Perryman) Williams on December 28, 2011. Randy’s wife, Julie, survives along with their family: daughters, Nichole (Williams) & Lonnie Morrison, and Stacia Bevington; sons, Stephen & Jennifer Szklarek, David & Melanie Szklarek, and Robert & Jamie Bevington; grandchildren, JD Morrison, Kennedi Morrison, Ashley (Szklarek) & Bryan Van Duyn, Ryan Szklarek, Melanie Szklarek, Benjamin Szklarek, Grace Szklarek, Sydney Szklarek, Zachary Bevington, and Sara Bevington; great-grandchildren, Tyler Van Duyn, Parker Van Duyn, and Brooks Van Duyn; and his brother, Bobby Williams. Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Harry E. and Donna (Shipley) Williams, as well as his wife, Patricia ‘Patty’ (Gilstrap) Williams.

Randy lived a too short life, filled with love of his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and friends. He never missed an opportunity for a round of golf or time on the lake. If there was a trip or adventure, his bags were packed.

His last trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, in early December with Julie and friends, was one of many annual treks! Following a holiday season filled with many gatherings of family and friends, Randy and Julie celebrated their seventh anniversary with a Caribbean cruise to seven sunny and warm ports of call. He had returned the week prior to passing, to begin golfing with his Pawleys Island, SC, golf buddies, laughing that his Knollwood gang was going to miss out for a few more months.

He was golfing on Tuesday morning when he felt ill, making his last chip shot onto the green. We know he is finishing that round of golf in heaven, and he’ll be playing when we get there. Anyone who knew or met Randy, learned quickly that those smiling blue eyes reflected the happiness in his heart, and he shared kindness, caring and fun with everyone around him.

We will always remember him as one of the truly ‘good guys,’ and we will cherish our memories and be forever saddened by our loss. To honor Randy, the family requests that everyone read and understand the dangers of a pulmonary embolism, and always live a joyful life filled with laughter and love! Funeral services for Randy will be held at 1:00p.m. on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at Palmer Funeral Home—Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend, Indiana.

Pastor Dave Wetterlund will officiate. A private interment will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park in Granger, Indiana. Friends may visit with the family from 4:00-7:00p.m. on Monday, January 28th at the funeral home, or from 12:00-1:00p.m. on Tuesday prior to services at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy in memory of Randy may be donated to Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Avenue, 7th Floor, New York, NY 10001. Online condolences may be left for the family at www. palmerfuneralhomes.com.
