Obituary for Heather Duncan Heather Renee Duncan, 27, passed away Sunday, April 21, 2018 at the Johnson City Medical Center. She was born August 12, 1990. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, George Rice Duncan.

Heather enjoyed life, family members and many friends, especially her newborn twins. She was always there to brighten the lives of others. Heather was a beautiful being that lived her life with beauty, grace and unconditional love for all forms of life.

She was an avid Star Wars and Comic Book “geek’ by her own admission. She loved nature and felt a deep connection to it always. She had the most infectious laugh, the most beautiful smile and the heart of a lion.

She will be missed more than words can describe. She will live on through her beautiful children, Odin and Aurora. Survivors include her partner, Hunter Markland, of Elizabethton, newborn son and daughter, Odin and Aurora, father and stepmother, Thomas “Tug” and Lynn Duncan of McKenzie, TN; mother and stepfather, Kelly and James McDuffie, of San Antonio, TX, maternal grandmother, Linda Rees, of San Antonio, TX, maternal grandfather, Bruce Rees of Hebron, IN, paternal grandmother, Christine Duncan, of Johnson City, TN.

She was survived by six siblings: Shelby, Amber, Ashley, Jamie, Andrew and Eric. Heather will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her aunts, uncles and beautiful nieces, nephews and extended family and many dear friends. The family will gather to share memories with Heather’s friends on Saturday, May 5, 2018 from 1:00 pm until a Celebration of her Life at 3:00 pm in the Sunrise Chapel of Tetrick Funeral and Cremation Services Johnson City with Dr. Bill Duncan and Pastor James Nave officiating.

A Graveside and Committal Service will be held at Washington County Memory Gardens on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at 1:00 PM. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 12:50 PM. Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
