Helen M. Girton, 93, of Lamar, PA died April 4, 2018 at the Lock Haven Hospital Emergency Room. Born February 1, 1925 in Curtin, Centre Co., she was the daughter of the late Harvey H. and Mary Boob Barnhart. On February 21, 1947, in Blanchard, she married Archie F. Girton who died December 14, 2004.

Helen retired as a hostess at the former Holiday Inn of Lamar. She was a member of the Clintondale United Methodist Church and enjoyed crocheting and watching the birds and other animals in her back yard. Her survivors include: 1 Daughter: Alice F. Williams, Bellefonte, PA 1 Son: Jay I. Girton, Columbia, SC 1 Brother: Blair (Phyllis) Barnhart, Flemington, PA 2 Grandsons: Joshua A. Girton and Gary L. Girton, Jr. 1 Great-Grandson: Zachary Girton Also many nieces and nephews *** Preceded in death by: 1 Son: Gary L. Girton who died January 2, 2016 5 Sisters 8 Brothers A Memorial Service honoring the life of Helen M. Girton will be held Sunday, April 8, 2018 at 3 PM in the Dean K. Wetzler, Jr. Funeral Home, 320 Main St., Mill Hall, PA with Pastor Dan Christopher, her pastor, officiating.

Interment, Rest Haven Memorial Park, Lock Haven, PA. Friends will be received in the funeral home 1 hour prior to services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s favorite charity through the funeral home.
