OBITUARY Herman Wilbur Vinson August 10, 1933 – November 16, 2018 Herman W. Vinson was born on August 10, 1933, in Boyce, LA. He passed from this life on Friday, November 16, 2018 at the age of 85. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Grace Williams Vinson; his parents, Rufus and Mary Hale; and his nine wonderful siblings: JT, Odell, Levelle, Huey, Frank, Scottie, Nellie, Melba Ruth, and Zennie Mae.

He served his country honorably during the Korean War as a member of the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne. He was a resident of Lake Charles and a member of the First Baptist Church of Lake Charles for a majority of his life, until moving to Baton Rouge in his final years. He was a co-owner of Odell Vinson Oil Field Contractors with his brothers, Frank, Scottie, and Huey.

He lives on through his daughter, Margo Vinson Pace and her husband John Jewell Pace and his sons, Cliff and John Vinson. He is also remembered through his four adoring grandchildren, Morgan, Johnathan, Karley, and Gracie. Services will be held at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at 10:00am with Bro.

Ronnie Estes officiating. Visitation will be at Hixson Funeral Home on Monday, November 19, 2018 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 8:00am until the time of the service.

A private burial will take place at Highland Memory Gardens on Wednesday, November 21, 2018. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www. hixsonfuneralhomes.com.
