Obituary for Hugh E. “Teddy” Bare Hugh E. (Teddy) Bare, age 49, of Surgoinsville, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday (6/6/18) following a valiant fight with cancer. He was a member of East Rogersville Baptist Church. He enjoyed fly fishing, golfing and playing with his dogs, Ferris (Monkey Man), Maxx (Macaroni), and Sally (Sally Sue).

He was a veteran of the US Army having served during Desert Storm. He was preceded in death by his father, Hugh Kyle (Ted) Bare, Jr.; maternal grandparents, Frank and Dovie Rhea; paternal grandparents, Hugh Kyle Bare, Sr., and Helen (Hessie) Goins Bare; and brother-in-law, Eric House. He is survived by his wife, Marla McNally-Bare; mother, Betty Jo Rhea Bare; sisters, Shona Bare House and Sonya Bare Russell and husband, Mitch; brother, Lance Bare and wife Stacy; sister-in-law, Miranda McNally-Rose and fiancé, Jon Clark; brothers-in-law, Michael McNally and fiancé, Linda Hopkins and Mickey McNally; nieces, Taylor Bare, Amanda McNally; nephews, Landon House, Justin House, Caleb Russell and Noah Russell; goddaughters, Allison, Gena and Gabby Suttles; and special cousins, James Mauk and Luewanna Mauk Smith, who joined the family and became a special brother and sister.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm Sunday (6/10/18) at Christian-Sells Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 4:00 pm with Rev. Mitch Russell officiating.
