Irene Esther Dillon, 90, of Newton Falls, passed away on Friday, October 19, 2018, at Community Skilled Health Care Centre. On October 26, 1927 in Paris Township Walter and Anna Helen Kurek Bodzenta welcomed the birth of their daughter. Irene achieved a Master’s Degree and worked as a teacher in the Newton Falls Schools for 36 years, retiring in July 1983.

She was a parishioner of the former St. Mary’s Catholic Church. On August 3, 1957, in Newton Falls, Irene was united in marriage with Clyde James Dillon. He preceded her in death on September 2, 1988.

Cherished memories of Irene will be carried on by her step daughter Sandra (Harold) Cooper of Granada, MN, grandchildren Sarah Lee Hartsburg, Rachel Rae Momsen, and Brian Harold Cooper, 6 great grandchildren, and sisters-in-law Marsha Bodzenta, Wilma Crum, and Betty Morris. Preceding her in death were her sisters Helen Anna Prusky, Emilien (Millie) Elizabeth Miscovich, Joanna (Jenny) Stephania Kovacs, Stella Adella Dillon, and Mary Berniece Hryckowian, and brothers Stanley Eugene Bodzenta, and John Eugene Bodzenta. Private family services will be held on Tuesday, October 23 at the Bernard P. Borowski Memorial Home.

Interment will be next to her husband Clyde in the Newton Township Cemetery. The family requests that no flowers be sent.
