Richard J. Wortman, 67, of Leavittsburg, passed away on Wednesday, November 7, 2018, at his residence. Richard was born on March 30, 1951 in Warren, the son of Walter and Anne Benich Wortman. He was a 1969 graduate of Newton Falls High School.

Richard served in the US Army from 1969 to 1973. He worked Copperweld Steel for 28 years and at Sajar Plastics for 10 years, retiring from both plants. In Richard’s free time he enjoyed yardwork and gardening.

Survivors include the love of his life, Cheryl Wolf, daughters Sharon (Bert Jones, Sr.) Hawkins of Garrettsville and Sandra (George, Sr.) Kreiner of PA, brothers Walter (Diane) Wortman of Newton Falls and William (Christine) Wortman of Champion, sister Christine Noble of Champion, and grandchildren Rayvon Hawkins, Miranda Jones, Bert Jones, Jr., Julia Jones, George Kreiner, Jr., Gracie Kreiner, Graydon Kreiner, and many nephews, nieces and cousins. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister Barbara Scarnecchia. As per Richard’s wishes there are no calling hours or services.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Bernard P. Borowski Memorial Home in Newton Falls. . .
