Obituary for Irma (Schletzer) Fryman INDIANAPOLIS – Irma (Schletzer) Fryman, age 80, of Indianapolis, passed away on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at her residence. She was born on November 3, 1937 in Nuremberg, Germany as the daughter of Johannes and Caroline (Rauch) Schletzer. Irma married Melvin Wayne Fryman in Nuremberg, Germany.

She was a counselor at the Juvenile Justice System in Indianapolis for over 20 years. Her and her husband also co-owned McClure’s Gas Station at 46th and Mitthoeffer for 10 years. She was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church.

Irma liked painting and drawing. Irma is survived by her son, Sean Fryman of Indianapolis; and grandchildren, Kristin Fryman, Annika Fryman, Rodney Michael and Leah Michael. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Helmud Schletzer; and daughter, Sherry Michael.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2018, from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 124 E. Staat Street, Fortville, IN 46040. A funeral service will take place immediately following the visitation at 1:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made by mail to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959 or envelopes will be available at the mortuary.
