Jim passed away on Monday April 23, 2018 after complications from surgery. He was born March 16, 1943 and predeceased by his father Irving and his mother Marjorie. He is survived by his wife Sally of 50 years; also an adored daughter Amy Ploutz (James) and a beloved son Michael.

He leaves behind three grandchildren Matthew Ploutz, Nicholas Brown and Kimberly Brown. He is also survived by his brothers Richard Brown (Anne) and Ronald Brown (Faith); a sister Marquita Wheeler (Fred); brothers-in-law Wayne Stiles (Patricia) and Brian Stiles; as well as many nieces and nephews. Jim retired from NYSEG after a 35 year career as a lineman and chief lineman.

Since his retirement he has enjoyed many winters in Florida and traveling to see family and friends. In his earlier years he enjoyed fishing and hunting with his father. He was loved by many and will be sadly missed.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 27th from 1pm to 3pm at the THOMAS J. SHEA FUNERAL HOME, INC. , 137 Robinson St., Binghamton, NY 13904. A Memorial Service will follow at 3pm at the Funeral Home.
