Obituary for Jack Major Harman Jack Major Harman, age 77, of Bandy, Virginia, drew his last breath here on earth and his first in heaven on Monday, November 5, 2018. He passed away at the Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, Tennessee following a lengthy illness. He was born on Clifton Fork in Buchanan County, Virginia and was the son of the late, S.W. Harman and Virgie Keen Harman.
Jack was a former truck driver and owner and operator of Harman Trucking. He later bought a farm in Bandy, Virginia where he loved to spend time farming and ever so often hunting. Jack was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather and friend.
His greatest joy was his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a member of the Richlands Tabernacle and loved to attend church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters, Hazel Hylton, Gladys Griffith and brother, C.H. Harman.
Those who remain to carry on his spirit are his: Loving wife of 59 years, Tommie Helen White Harman of Bandy, VA Daughters: Debra Vandyke of Glade Spring, VA Michelle Deel and husband, Michael of Cedar Bluff, VA Sisters, Elnor Lemmon of Canton, OH Eva Cleo Sargent of Cedar Bluff, VA Brothers: Kendris Harman of Tazewell, VA Clyde Harman of Oakwood, VA Bill Harman of Tazewell, VA Roy Harman of Wyndham, OH Grandchildren, Jessica Vandyke Hicks and husband Brett, Jackie Kinder, Lily Deel, Ava Deel and Jacob Deel. Great Grandchildren, Brandon Hicks, Milena Burns and Alonza Burns. Funeral services for Jack Major Harman will be conducted at 12:00 pm on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at the Richlands Tabernacle Church in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev.
Phillip Horton and Rev. David Horton officiating. Interment will follow at the Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be, Jacob Deel, Michael Deel, Johnny Vandyke, C. Henry Harman, Cass Harman and Jack Edward Harman. The family begin receiving friends at 6:00pm on Wednesday evening at the Richlands Tabernacle.
