Obituary for Jakob F. Gronski Beloved son and brother passed away Monday, September 24, 2018 at his home following a lengthy battle with Duchenne’s Muscular Dystrophy. Age 21 years. Jakob was born July 8, 1997 in Flint, Michigan.

He graduated from Houghton Lake High School Magna Cum Laude in 2016 and attended Central Michigan University through on-line learning. He enjoyed Detroit Red Wings Hockey, MDA Summer Camp, playing video games, puzzles and board games. Jakob served as Mid-Michigan Good Will Ambassador for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Surviving are his father, Thomas Gronski and his wife Rhonda, Grand Blanc; Jakob’s mother, Angela Sampier, Higgins Lake; two brothers, Andrew and Lucas Gronski, both of Higgins Lake; one step-brother and two step-sisters, Tim Emard, Evart; Miranda Emard-Mellon and her husband Peter, North Las Vegas, Nevada; Arry and Joshua Rueffer, Grand Blanc; grandmother, Geraldine Sampier, Higgins Lake; several aunts, uncles, cousins and many dear friends. Jakob was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bernard and Ann Gronski and Francis Sampier Jr., and by an aunt, Jolene Sampier. Funeral service will take place 6:00 p.m. Friday, September 28, 2018 at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd.

, (between Shattuck and McCarty). Chaplain Doug Bassett will officiate and cremation will follow. Friends may call at the funeral home where the family will be present on Friday from 2:00 p.m. until time of service.
