Obituary for James Charles Rau James Charles Rau, Saginaw, Michigan. Beloved father and grandfather passed away Monday, September 17, 2018. Age 82 years.

Son of the late Clarence and Marion (Ronald) Rau, James was born November 3, 1935 in Reese, Michigan. He served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956 returning to Saginaw. He was also a resident of Traverse City, Michigan, San Antonio, Texas and Hudson, Florida holding multiple positions in construction and sales.

He was also a licensed contractor and business owner. James enjoyed traveling, classic cars and outdoor activities. Surviving to cherish his memory are two daughters and three sons, James (Vickie) Rau, Craig (Damaris) Rau, John (Anne) Rau, Jill Rau and Julie Rau; his former wife, Patricia (Braun) Rau; four grandchildren, Nicole, Steven, Justin and Alexander; two sisters, Marjory Corrigan and Kathryn (Wayne) Hubbell; three brothers, Robert (Mary) Rau, Herbert (Janice) Rau, Lawrence Rau; his long-term companion, Nancy (Kuschell) Davidson and her sons, Peter and Thomas Davidson; many nieces and nephews.

James was preceded in death by his step-mother, Eunice (Stein) Rau; and two brothers, Ronald C. and Gerald R. Rau. Honoring Mr. Rau’s wishes cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Thursday, September 20, 2018 at the James Township Hall, 6060 Swan Creek Rd.

, Saginaw, Michigan. A private internment will take place at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the charity of your choice.
