James Christopher “Chris” Hardin November 21, 1967 – January 19, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card James Christopher “Chris” Hardin, age 51, of Vine Grove, KY, passed away Saturday, January 19, 2019 at his residence. Chris was born November 21, 1967 in Louisville, KY, son of Jesse James Hardin and Margaret Carol Shelman Kerns. He was preceded in death by his father, Jesse James Hardin; beloved step-father, Ted Kerns; nephew, Jeremy Hylemon; his Papaw Hardin; grandparents, Chester and Josephine Shelman; and 9 babies born too soon.

Chris was a dedicated family man, married 31 years to his wife, Susan. He proudly served in the US Army Infantry at Fort Benning, GA, although he was partially disabled during his military training. After his military service, Chris received his BS in IT from RETS in Louisville.

He then worked in the IT Department for Caritas Medical Center for 17 years before his job was outd leading Chris to become a driver for Enterprise for the past two years. He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Susan A. Hardin; children: Jessica (Jesse) Fox, Christopher William Hardin, and James Christopher Hardin II; his mother, Margaret Carol Kerns; his sister, Kim Hylemon; and nephew, Steven Johnson. Cremation has been chosen by the family and upon Chris’s wishes, the family will have a private scattering ceremony in Florida.
