Obituary for James J. “Jim” Wheeler James Joseph Wheeler, 78, of Erie, passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2018 after an extended illness. He was an army veteran who served overseas in Germany, as well as a retired truck driver who loved auto racing and driving new automobiles. He also enjoyed fishing and golfing in his younger years.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents James and Frances Wheeler-Vogt, sisters Millicent and husband Chuck Wolfram, and Mari MoreII, daughter-in-law Amy Wheeler-Massing, and niece Kelly Hodges. He is survived by his dear friend Deloris Palmer, daughters Beth Wheeler-Wisniewski and husband Dave, Tricia Wheeler-Bryson and husband Bob, and sons James Wheeler, Mike Wheeler and wife Pamela, and Bob Wheeler. James also had grandchildren Jessica, Thomas, Lindsey, Matt, Kieth, Carlie, and Benjamin, as well as great-grandchildren Adryanna, Giavonna, Anna, and Mila.

Friends may attend Sunday’s weekly 11:00 a.m. Mass at St. Joseph Bread of Life Church, in James’ memory. Funeral arrangements are handled by the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home, Inc. 5000 Wattsburg Rd. Erie, PA 16504.
