Obituary for Helen A. Stevens (Boyer) Helen A. Boyer Stevens, 87, of Erie, passed away peacefully on Monday January 7, 2018 at St. Vincent Health Center. She was born in Philipsburg, PA on August 4, 1931 a daughter of the late Robert Boyer, Sr. and Dollie Aldstadt Boyer. Helen worked as an x-ray technician for nine years with Dr. Orva Wentling, D.O. and most recently worked as an x-ray technician at Metro Health Center for 17 years before retiring in 1992.

She was a cub scout den mother and past president of the PTA at JoAnna Connell Elementary School. She enjoyed needlepoint, quilting, and camping. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, George Woods Stevens and one brother, John Boyer.

Survivors include two sons, Richard Stevens and his wife, Nanette, of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Larry Stevens and his wife, Kimberly, of Erie; four grandchildren, Lt. Col.

Amanda Okeson, USAF (Lt. Col Kendall Okeson, USAF), Sean Stevens, Capt. Kile Kuzma, USAF (Jenni), and Cheyenne Kuzma (Warren Whitney); six great grandchildren, Anna, John, Cody, Callen, Kenna, and Jordyn; one brother, Robert Boyer, Jr. and his wife, Mary, of Kane, PA; one sister, Margaret Yingling and her husband, William, of Butler, PA; her sister in law, Mary Weaver and her husband, Jerry, of Clymer, NY; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Rd. , on Thursday from 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. and are invited to services there on Friday morning at 10 a.m.. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
