Obituary for Paul W. Czarnecki Paul W. Czarnecki, 82, of Waterford, passed away on Sunday November 18, 2018 at St. Vincent Health Center following a brief illness. He was born in Erie on July 31, 1936 a son of the late John and Sophie Kresneski Czarnecki. Paul graduated from Erie Tech High School and attended Gannon University.
He was honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corps in 1962 and was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed fishing on Lake Erie and Lake Pleasant and hunting deer, turkeys, and waterfowl. Paul had a distinguished career at General Electric.
Traveling the world with his family he lived in Pakistan, South Africa, and New Zealand while commissioning locomotives for GE. His work for GE also included travel to most of Africa, Syria, Sudan, Turkey, and Brazil. He received numerous managerial awards for his work with GE.
Paul was a member of the St. Boniface Ushers Club, Siebenbuerger Club, Presque Isle Yacht Club, S.O.N.S. , and held a United States Coast Guard Captain’s License. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Jack Czarnecki.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Kobylinski Czarnecki; two sons, Paul Czarnecki and his wife, Christie, of Waterford, and Mark Czarnecki and his wife, Brenda, of Chicago, IL; one daughter, Pam Stoeckle of Aurora, CO; one brother, William Czarnecki of Union City; seven grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to a Memorial Mass at St. Boniface Catholic Church on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m.. Inurnment will follow in Mary Queen of Peace Cemetery.
