Obituary for James J. Ponczoch James J. “Jim” Ponczoch, 74, of Naples FL passed away Friday, November 23, 2018 at Solaris HealthCare – Imperial. Formerly of Franklin, WI he had been a resident of Naples since 1988. Jim was born in September of 1944 in Wisconsin Rapids, WI a son of Melvin and Helen Ponczoch.

Jim was a graduate of Assumption Catholic High School. Mr. Ponczoch was a veteran of the United States Army, serving from 1963 – 1970. He was a graduate of Milwaukee Area Technical College and started his career as a tool & die maker at Rexnord Corporation.

Jim then moved to Naples and took a position with Defense Research before establishing Jim’s Handyman Services, retiring in 2015. He was an avid golfer who also enjoyed playing cards and spending time with family. Survivors include his beloved wife of 40 years, Debra; loving children, James (Jodi), Mark (Jennifer), Susanne (Mauricio), Rebecca (Robert), Jessica; mother, Helen; siblings, John (Ginny), Patricia (Joseph), Jane; and 13 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Melvin and brother, Joseph. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, December 28, 2018 at 12:00 P.M. (noon) at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 625 111th Ave. N., Naples, FL 34108.

Burial will follow in the church memorial garden. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jim’s name may be made to St. John the Evangelist or to Avow Hospice. Arrangements are being handled by Shikany’s Bonita Funeral Home.
